Dr Johnny Reid

With over 25 years of experience in oral and maxillofacial surgery, Johnny completed his training in Ireland, Scotland, Yorkshire and the USA.

He worked as an NHS consultant in Cumbria before returning to Yorkshire in 2015. Now a consultant surgeon in Mid Yorkshire and Leeds, Teaching Hospitals NHS trusts, specialising in injuries to the bones and soft tissues of the face, facial skin cancer, salivary gland disease, including a wide range of problems affecting the mouth and jaws. With training in dentistry and medicine, Johnny is in a unique position to help patients with conditions of the face and jaw, and how this can affect patients’ general health and well-being.

With a keen interest in training, Johnny is an educational supervisor for junior surgeons in his speciality. He is also an Advanced Trauma and Life Support (ATLS) instructor, helping badly injured trauma patients. He has spent
some time working with a charity in Ethiopia, treating patients whose faces have been damaged by infection, wild animals, and congenital conditions. This has allowed him to put his skills to good use in challenging conditions and
learning from surgeons across different specialities and countries.
